Bush Administration drops a bomb!

In a suprise announcement, the BBC is reporting that Colin Powell has just announced that the evidence supporting the existence of mobile weapons laboratories inside Iraq may have been wrong....well, gee. That certainly comes as a shock.

Former US Chief weapons inspector, David Kay, doubts there were ever any mobile weapons labs inside Iraq....but then goes on C-Span and says that while countries like Iraq and Lybia may not have had the technical resources within their own boundaries to make such weapons.....it was NO problem for them to go to an outside source, and in the process Mr Kay mentioned the Malaysians, to develop and to provide for them whatever their hearts desired and pocket books could afford.

Congratulations on your new 'Blog'. I will save it to my favorites today. :-)
While my not comment is not exactly on the subject, it is in the 'ballpark' and concerns Iraq and why we are there. I have been wanting to point out what I perceive to be a misquote that really took off and assumed a life of its own. That is the notion that President Bush invaded Iraq due to their being an "eminent threat". The way I remember it, Bush decided to invade Iraq before they had any more time to become an 'eminent threat' I will need to research to find the exact quotes. How do you remember it?

Does this mean we should invade and occupy Malaysia?

The decision to invade and occupy Iraq was made the day Bush was inaugurated. All that was needed was an excuse and 9/11 gave them that. But even without 9/11 Saddams ass was officially grass on January 20th, 2001. The neocons had control of the government and their will shall be done.

When you wonder why we are there just remember

OIL, EMPIRE, HEGEMONY

It is really rather simple.

Actually my point was that, regardless of the physical evidence that has or has not been found in Iraq to date, David Kay did not question Saddam Husseins intent to use WMD's, as we all know he has used them on his own people before. On the contrary, he expressed great concern that, given the opportunity to acquire WMD's from an outside source, Saddam and his brutal sons would have no doubt posed a great danger to the rest of the Middle East and would not have hesitated to attack Americans if he had such a chance.

Kay merely was focusing on new ways to attack terrorism. He claimed that the NSA, as great as they are, are nothing more than a dinosaur in todays environment. He claimed that using super fast computers to navigate through massive electronic communications to try and locate a "red flag" item is out of date and will be ineffective in todays struggle agains terrorism. I see his point but I still dont think the NSA is a dinosaur.

Boortzlistener, it's nice to hear from you and no, I dont think we should invade Malaysia, but I dont think we should ignore them either, ....or any other country in the Middle East with hopes of acquiring WMD's. That is what got us here in the first place.

Jan, so glad to have you aboard and I look forward to hearing from you very soon, thanks.

It is possible, I suppose, (although there has been no proof offered other than speculation) that former President Bush realized the atrocities in Iraq during Desert Storm and suggested to George W that something must be done to stop this madman. It is pretty clear that the civilized world agreed that Hussein was a threat. With that in mind, I guess I understand why some speculate as they do.
