Hi there i am not here to debate "Best or Worst" president we ever had or ever will have..But would like to draw you attention to a scary thought..or fact..You have made it very clear on how fast Bush has acomplished many different things.
"Liberated two countries,crushed the Taliban,cripled al-Qaida,put nucluar inspectors in Lybia,Iran and North Korea without firing a shot,captured a know terrist that killed many of his own people,and still being able to keep an eye on this country for more terrorist attacks"
And you say this is all done in just 2 years with little life lost on our part. Is this the best president we ever had? Little loss of life..ok i have to admit this is a good thing..But dont it make you go "hummm" Think about it..Remeber Bush was not in the winner circle untill Florida all of a sudden had trouble with thier votes..Gee all of a sudden Bush was the president now has accomplished all these things..This makes me wonder, "Was all of this nothing more then a set up?" Did he become president because some person or persons wanted him to be regardless of what the american voters wanted? Is this decomracy? Was he put into office because he was easily controlable then his running mate then handed all these acomplishments on a silver plater and paved his way with prommis of clouds with silver linings when he is all said and done? Think about it. Shoo doggers he didnt even want to defend his country in his younger day. Wasnt he the one that was in the National Gards that didnt bother to show up for his tour of duty in Vietnam. Wasnt he the one that his dad bought his way out of having to go and serve his country? "Best president or Worst president?" I dont know you make the call..Thanks later sweetstuffj2000

I never said he was the best President....I was merely countering the argument that he was the worst.

There are differing opinions on whether or not he was awol for a small term in his guard duty....differing opinions coming from the servicemen who were in his unit. It is possible for other people to smear an innocent in pursuit of their own idealogical agendas. Look what happened to Bill Clinton.

What is interesting though, is that Kerry did go to Vietnam and received a purple heart for a scratch?? (The person who took his write up on the incident has recently come out in public to say that, in no way shape or form did Kerry deserve a purple heart....)Then, upon arriving back at the states, made a mockery of all the troops he left over in Vietnam and made a public demonstration of throwing away his ribbons that he so "valiantly" received and accused his brothers of attrocities. He was very "heroic" in front of the TV.

It IS intersting indeed. If what you say is true, then why do the majority of our military personnel endorse our current president over a previous "war-hero?" Yes, our men, women, and brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters that are over in Afghanistan and Iraq risking their lives daily pledge their overwhelming support and allegience to Bush...not to Kerry.

--Now, regarding your suspicions of a "consispiracy theory" in Florida. The Florida vote was a fiasco, a black eye in the history of American politics...but you are suggesting to me that you think Cheney (or some other GOP higher up) fixed the election in Florida? I think it would make a good movie on TBS but its absolutely ridiculous. I dont think even Jeb could have manipulated things the way that you say.

Remember, Bush won due to the electoral votes, not because of dangling "chads" in Florida

Remember, Gore lost in his own state.

Gore had a lot of baggage and Bush was a relative unknown in DC. The Republicans already had a leg up because of the Clinton fiasco and it was almost a foregone conclusion that the Republicans would regain control of the Oval Office....I am only suprised at how close it was, and it appears to be close yet once again this time.

I am not a wholehearted Republican the way you might think I am. I loved Bill Clinton and I was very outraged at the all out partisan assault that the Republicans unleashed on him....but if you pay close attention, the same people that attacked Clinton are being attacked now by the Liberals. Trash talking propaganda like Michael Moore's 911, Whoopi Goldberg's drunken verbal assault's, Al Franken "body slamming" a Republican heckler during a fund raiser (and getting away with it) would not have been tolerated by the public back in WWII. We had a decent society, a moral society, ...a society that cared about truth instead of sensationalism.

I get tired of the liberal press beating up (some times deserving but most of the time not) on a war time president playing politics when our troops are dying for our Country. I try to be a small contrasting voice of reason.

Hi there, I can feel your heart as i read your words in response to my message. You are very passionate with your feelings and i respect that. As i said i do not debate the fact of worst or best president we ever had or will have. I just want one that will always be upfront and honest with the people he or she has been set to lead. I agree with you when you say that society has become tainted as far as bashing who ever they feel drunk or otherwise. However that would be our freedom of speach ,another thing our loved ones are fighting for now and has fuaght for since the beinging of our great country. But do you not question? Do you not wonder how Bush was able to accomplish so much in such a little time when it took other leaders years? Does this not cause a red flag to go up in your person? You say that Bush won by the electorial votes. Yes this is true, that is how it has been set by our laws. However he was loosing or close before the messup in Florida wasnt he? Do you not wonder or question why in all the years of voting, that nothing so dramatic has happened like that before? I believe that things happen for a reason. As Goerge Norry would say "There are no coincedences" I believe this. What i would like to know is the "real" reasons. As far as to wether i feel there was a conspericy or not. Hmmmm, Lets just say, there is corruption everywhere in our streets and abroad. I for one will always question and always seek the truth of things because no matter who or what title they may hold,as every one else they are just human. They put thier pants on the same way i do "One leg at a time."I look at it as "There is no one above me,nor is there anyone beneath me, we all walk at the same level" and until i can witness someone walkin on air or Water for that matter i will continue to question. You comment on the Clintons fiasco. I assume you are refering to his indiscrections. I do not say he was right or wronge. I say he was human. Right or wronge it happens everyday its just the media doesnt jumpon or make a big deal over the common person for such actions. No one leader has ever been or ever will be as pure as the drivin snow in december,so how can you make a judgement of being a good leader based on baggage? Maybe unknow publically but i can just about bet my bottom dollar he was known...Demicrat or Republican,balance,yes we need both just as the univers needs good and bad to balance, but the bottom line is we need some one that will stand against anyone/anything to defend his/her rights and ours,that will have compasion when needed,a backbone when called for, but formost will always be open and honest with those he/she leads. How can a soldier follow his comanding officer and fellow soldiers into battle if he/she does not trust or believe in them? I do not debate best or worst i just want some one i can believe in. You almost sound paranoid that our military has managed to do things "quickly." Yes, we had the fastest armored advance in military history but we left our middle and our supply lines vulnerable to guerrilla attacks in the process and had to leave land that we had already taken...I am no military genious but I see this as flawed.

Bush's father was president, yes, and W was the Governer of TX but in the DC circles, he was a relative unknown. Very few Senators or Congressmen had worked with him before (as opposed to John Kerry). Also, Bush didnt say a whole lot during his presidential campaign so he was kind of a mystery. He campaigned on his record in TX...not on what he had accomplished in Washington...I will give you an example: Jeb Bush is the Governer of FL and his father was once President of the United States...but, what do you know about him?? (Now, you can search the web and give me all kinds of answers, but off the top of your head I am going to assume the answer is going to be "not much")

Judging by what you have written (I may be wrong) but you feel that you have been lied to by our President....when in fact, the President had been given faulty information by the CIA who was headed by George Tenet...the SAME CIA and the SAME George Tenet that Bill Clinton nomimated to head the CIA in the 1990's. When Bush was reviewing the intelligence he asked Tenet about the presence of WMD's and if they really were in Iraq....Tenet's response was "It's a slam dunk Mr President." Now, with the state of domestic terrorism at the time, with 9/11 being fresh in everyones minds, with Saddam Hussien (who has used WMD's on his own population) sitting on the worlds 2nd largest supply of oil...I myself would have made the same call that our President did.

Did he lie to you? No.

Was everything he told you true? No.

Absolutely not, and if you had been around and read some of my posts long enough you would know that I am disillusioned at the fact that there is no honor in American politics...on either side. What I am ill with is the American people's lack of interest and their willingness to believe whatever they see on TV or hear on the radio because it is much easier than doing the research themselves. They see a TV personality just dogging our president and the viewer has no idea that the person he was watching is actually a liberal...and it works both ways too. The majority of our population is registered as Republican but the majority of the News we see, hear, and read is controlled by Democratic liberals...that is not my hunch, that is a fact.

Hi there, No, not paranoid..Just causious. I understand that we have far more advanced wepons and techknowledgey then we had in the past and that we can probably accomplish our abjectives much faster and more effecient then before..However yes i am concerned when things go like dominoes. This is good that Bush has accomplished what he has and i cannt or will not take that from him. But dont you wonder what doors were opened for him to be able to do the things that he has done and why they were opened for him and not the others that came before him? Or even who opened them..I dont know maybe it is "too much tv syndrome" on my part here but i still believe that there is someone or someones behind the scenes pushin the buttons to put things in place to benifit a few and not the all. I dont know i think the words that come to me is "to fast,to easy" When Clinton was in office was it not reported that a few of our good men had Sadam in thier sights but was made to back down and not do anything? I ask why? All of this bad stuff would not have happened if Clinton would have been allowed to give the word to have the situation takin care of. 9/11 may never have happened and so many lives would not have been lost because the persons that did it would have thought harder about doin it knowing that it would have had major consiquences on thier parts to have followed thru. Sorry to bring up the whole "oil" idea..But is this the reason why all of this went down as it did? Weapons of mass distruction? Or was it a way to secure certain benifits of the oil? We dont even really need the oil if the goverment would allow the manifactoring of hydro powered cars and the such. Yes inventors have found an alternitive sourse but no one in power wants to reconize it or even impliment it..Why? Money is power and the oil industery has money in it.. Yes another country has been liberated as no one should have to live as they did, but did we really have to be the ones that liberated them? Dont get me wronge i am proud that we can and will stand up for the underdog so to speak..but please was ther another reason behind it?

Ok, Maybe, i'll give you that..Maybe he didnt know that what he was tellin us was not the truth.. Bingo, hello, that says it all in a nut shell right there..((He didnt know he was not telling us the truth)) That right there, is the bases of all my questions..Who is really behind all of this? How was Bush able to accomplish so much so fast and why? What is the real reason that we went over to Iraq? And who is all this bad stuff really suppose to benifit? Was the liberation of another country and this war on terrism just a side benifit for the possible real truth? "No, im not paranoid,just want the truth." With all the stuff that is being put into effect and into laws because of this whole (terrest thing) in my opinion is just paving the way for bad stuff to come our way..
Thats just like in the state of California it is illegal to smoke cigeretts in your own home if you have children. Ok, fine ,take it out of public places which is bad enough now to know you can get fined or even arrested for smoking in your own home if you have children..Come on. Also the goverment is wanting to put in place this airwaves program (dont remember the name at this time) But this program will knock out short wave radio like cb's that even emergency officials use to communicate during emergencies,ham radio,and even some am radio stations. This program will allow you to plug a plug into your wall and be instantly connected to the internet..the cyber world..But do you know that not only can you connect like that but everythin that you will plug in will be a transmitter to anyone who can log onto that frequency. Your tv will become a huge camera instead of a viewing machine. These are the reasons i question like i do..I dont want to go to bed one night a free person and wake up the next day in a heavely controled society. If we dont stand up and question then that is what could happen..It is already slowly headin that way..
I am happy to hear that you do not hold the leaders so high on a pedistall that you would blindly follow. And yes i do agree with you when you say that there is little to no more honor left in people. And yes i would have to agree that people would rather listen to the radio and the tv to get thier info rather then dig and find the truth of stuff and therefor thier opinions can and will be swayed by the silly words of a drunkin movie star,liberal or not... Unfortunatly that is the fast pace world we live in. Good excuse? No. But the truth? yes..I seem to be running out of room here so i will close with that.
