NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM

Guns of August...

dollar.jpg

To many people, W.W.I seems like ancient history. To me, it is the most fascinating of wars. It is when the modern world began, or, in Barbara Tuchman's opinion, when the 19th Century ended. My late Great Uncle Jimmy, a Brit, joined the Army at the age of 16 by lying that he was 18 after being encouraged to do so by a recruiter. Where did they send him? To Ireland, to train horses for the cavalry! This was the same war that saw the debut of the airplane, submarine, tank, poison gas, machine gun, flamethrower, and hand grenade!

PRESIDENT BUSH: This man is doing a great job, and we're proud to call him friend. He believes in freedom and peace. And I really appreciate what you've done, sir.

SECRETARY GENERAL DE HOOP SCHEFFER: Thank you. It's a challenge, but NATO is worth it.

PRESIDENT BUSH: It is worth it.

SECRETARY GENERAL DE HOOP SCHEFFER: NATO is worth it, and the transatlantic relationship is worth it. More than just in words, but all in deeds.

PRESIDENT BUSH: Right. I was hoping to change the mission of NATO so it meets the threats of the 21st century, and we're going to work together to help make sure NATO is configured militarily to meet the threats of the 21st century, as well. But you're the right man for the job, and we're honored you took it. I really appreciate working with you.

SECRETARY GENERAL DE HOOP SCHEFFER: We're defending values, and values never come out. And I think they should be defended every single day and every single hour. We see examples of that everywhere around that NATO is -- it's about values, has always been about values, and it's still about values. But Turkey has changed. We have terrorism everywhere. There's fights everywhere, be it here in this city, be it in New York, Uzbekistan, Mombasa, Yemen, you name it. This alliance has to participate in fighting it first, and winning it.

PRESIDENT BUSH: Thank you

Q Does the kidnapping of the Turks cast a pall over this meeting?

PRESIDENT BUSH: (Shakes head, indicating no.)

It's amazing how much controversy a trumped up movie like this can cause....

Spiderman was one of the most amazing box office smashes of all time...but advertise that Michael Moore produced and directed it and what do you get?...Nada.

Yet, put together a movie that 99% of the American populus knows has been created and edited in a dubious if not totally unethical manner that makes no bones about destroying a war time administration....and it is going to make money.

Is Mr. Moore trying to change popular opinion or is he merely morbidly capitalizing on a nation's expected uneasiness about a current war...at the expense of everyone else who is TRULY involved??

Is Mr Moore being asked to risk his life in support or in debate of our current administration's foreign policy??

No

Is Mr Moore taking a risk to his financial livelyhood or physical well-being to attack or defend one political side or the other of his nation in a time of war??

No

Is he taking advantage of the situation?? Pouring fuel on the fire?? Generating controversy to the masses, and giggling behind the scenes, in an effort to generate free promotion of his latest Mock-umentary??

Mr Moore will be giggling all the way to the bank. A man like this only encourages the enemy and I thank the powers that be that a man of low moral caliber such as him were not privy to major media outlets during WWII...

It seems he is a prime example of capitalism winning out over honor, ...honor, ...a trait I will admit that is sorely lacking in our country today.

Folks, before you read Michael Moores take on the situation, ...before you read any liberal democrat's take (that is; any liberal democrat that has enough media savvy but has no future presidential goals...ie; Al Gore) about what happened on the day of our nations worst hostile attack......

...well, maybe you might want to hear just what the folks around him that day had to say.

We should put our trust in who??

UN building.jpg

United Nations auditors have alleged that the current CPA's bookkeeping of Iraqi oil revenues are ripe for "fraudulent acts".

I find it heartwarming that the U.N. is looking out for the Iraqi people. Honestly. I am thankful that they have been there all along...for us Americans as well as the Iraqi people. If it were not for the U.N. then I am certain that the CPA would not be rebuilding infrastructure. They would not be rebuilding schools. They would not be allowing a free press (granted, a free press that doesn't advocate violence) for the virginal Iraqi masses.

I am confidant that the CPA would not be rebuilding hospitals, that they would not allow freedom of religion. I am confidant that the CPA would not encourage an environment that would tolerate freedom of any religion or lack thereof without the divine guidance and intervention of the U.N.

No, without the U.N....we and the Iraqi people would be lost.

It is, however, quite ironic that the U.N. should condemn the CPA of defrauding the Iraqi people just shortly after there was concrete evidence indicating that the Cyprus born U.N. undersecretary general Benon Sevan had been skimming from the most underprivelaged part of the Iraqi society for the better part of a decade....

...that papers confiscated from Saddam's oil minister which plainly show that 270 prominent foreign officials received the right to trade in Iraqi oil at cut-rate prices are being swept under the well groomed rugs of the U.N....

I dont think these claims are legitimate, ...but rather, coincidence.

Yeah, ...and I've got some ocean front property in Arizona real cheap too!!

Folks, a majority of the nations we have asked for monetary and military help from were actually some of the largest creditors of the former Iraqi regime. Perhaps we were naive in believing that they would choose principle over currency....but hindsight always proves to be 20/20...that may be the only true lesson that history teaches us.

Morals, ethics, ...in fact...living history can be bought, signed, sealed, and delivered for just under a few million dollars.

If the U.N. is to be held to a higher ethical standard than any single nation, then should they not require the ultimate sacrifice from their leadership?? ...and to make it foremost on their agenda that they retain a moral credibility at all costs?? ...that is to say, if we allow them to dictate the fate of our global evolution??

It is bullshit, closed door, back scratching politics that govern the U.N.

I like the initial ideology behind the United Nations, ...but perhaps GWB was right when he said....they are on the edge of irrelevancy.

JESUS AND THE REDNECK

jesus1.jpg

An Irishman in a wheelchair entered a restaurant one
afternoon and asked the waitress for a cup of coffee.
The Irishman looked across the restaurant and asked,
"Is that Jesus sitting over there?"

The waitress nodded "yes," so the Irishman told her
to give Jesus a cup of coffee on him.

The next patron to come in was an Englishman with a
hunched back. He shuffled over to a booth, painfully
sat down, and asked the waitress for a cup of hot tea.
He also glanced across the restaurant and asked, "Is
that Jesus over there
?"

The waitress nodded, so the Englishman said to give
Jesus a cup of hot tea, "My treat."

The third patron to come into the restaurant was a
Redneck on crutches.

He hobbled over to a booth, sat down and hollered,
"Hey there, sweet thang. How's about gettin' me a
cold glass of Coke
!" He, too, looked across the
restaurant and asked, "Is that God's boy over there?"

The waitress once more nodded, so the Redneck said
to give Jesus a cold glass of Coke, "On my bill."

As Jesus got up to leave, he passed by the Irishman,
touched him and said, "For your kindness, you are
healed
." The Irishman felt the strength come back
into his legs, got up, and danced a jig out the door.

Jesus also passed by the Englishman, touched him
and said, "For your kindness, you are healed." The
Englishman felt his back straightening up, and he
raised his hands, praised the Lord and did a series
of back flips out the door.

Then Jesus walked towards the Redneck.....

The Redneck jumped up and yelled, "Don't touch me..

I'm drawin' disability!"

Dust

A thought from someone I love:

Let me ask you a question. Do you think the dust in your house is bad?
Well, slip on your shoes and walk OUTSIDE! Our entire earth, the one we call home, is being polluted and eroted to nothing! I don't want my kids growing up in a world you can relate to 12 Monkeys! If everyone can have some care about the planet we live on, maybe our problem could have been helped a while ago.
